Explore the archived conversations with sustainability leaders and experts that helped mark the launch of The SustainAbility Institute by ERM. The webinars and discussion sessions focused on business resilience and how to increase it to create the greatest chance of success on the sustainable development agenda now through 2030.
Questions we explored with panelists and participants include:
- What have the extraordinary pressures of 2020 – COVID-19, economic downturn, global protests demanding society address systemic racism and inequality, etc. – revealed about the state of business and societal resilience? What does this mean for sustainability?
- What must be done to boost resilience to ensure business and society are better prepared for future shocks?
- One of the greatest challenges of what the UN has labeled the “decade of action” 2020-2030 will be ensuring rapid progress on the low carbon energy transition. What do you see as the greatest obstacles to the creation of a net-zero economy and society? What are the most urgent actions for business to take to accelerate this?
- The influence of investors and the finance sector on sustainable development has been amplified in recent years by tremendous growth in Environmental, Social & Governance or ESG activity. What role do you expect ESG to play in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals and otherwise making society and the economy more sustainable by 2030?
