About Me: Anita joined the UN Global Compact in 2010 and is Senior Manager, Decent Work & Supply Chain Sustainability. She manages the UN Global Compact’s supply chain sustainability portfolio, and currently heads the Decent Work in Global Supply Chains Action Platform. This UN Global Compact-led initiative engages with a group companies and partners that are committed to taking action to advance decent work in the supply chain and help build a human rights based approach to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainability Development.

Previously, Anita was a member of the UNICEF, UN Global Compact, Save the Children joint Steering Committee which led the development of the Children’s Rights and Business Principles, and also helped establish the Child Labour Platform in collaboration with the ILO. Additionally, she has managed a number of projects and workstreams focused on integrated sustainability including the role of in-house counsel and the legal profession, investor relations and procurement. In her capacity she also provides advisory support to other issue areas related to human rights, labour rights, legal affairs and integrity measures.

Before joining the Global Compact, Anita worked for EIRIS, provider of environmental, social and governance analysis for responsible investors, managing clients such as the Norwegian Government Pension Fund – Global, DNB Nor and Aviva. She also worked with the London-based sustainability standards and consulting firm AccountAbility as Programme Coordinator for the MFA Forum, a multi-stakeholder initiative working to promote responsible competitiveness in key textile exporting countries in the face of global competition.
